The challenge
Box faced a significant skills and knowledge gap in automation, cloud infrastructure, and SRE capabilities. Adding to the challenge, restrictions on headcount were hindering team growth, delivery from their Silicon Valley site was ~300% of the cost, and a lack of flexible resources increased the strain of fluctuating demand.
"Stott and May Consulting delivers teams that perfectly fit the scope, seamlessly expanding our objectives to address SRE challenges..."
"Their expertise and adaptability enabled us to establish effective processes within our operational constraints. I highly recommend them for business and IT initiatives—they excel at problem-solving in any context."

The proposed solution
Stott and May Consulting proposed building a scalable team of engineers collaborating with existing efforts to automate processes, resulting in cost savings through UK-based resourcing and Linux/Unix system support. Generate a comprehensive report on the automation landscape to facilitate a seamless handover and knowledge transfer. Identify opportunities for process efficiencies to ensure a holistic approach to addressing client needs.
The project team
Stott and May Consulting onboarded a project team consisting of a flexible squad of 12, featuring “ramp up” and “ramp down” periods. These included specialists in Linux engineering, Python scripting, automation, SRE, Kubernetes, and GCP.
The results
We built and delivered a fully operational world-class engineering team in just 4 weeks, enabling 100% of service requests into the NOC to be completed in SLA. The deployment of a contingent worker team resulted in annual savings of $700K and 150 engineering hours recouped. These workers consistently met a target SLA of 100% for remediating infrastructure vulnerabilities
